government of Kabankalan as livelihood loan assistance. The check was received by Cristina Suan, chairman of the association, from Mayor Pedro P. Zayco, Jr. during the turn-over program held at the KCPA Hall of the Ceres terminal recently.
On the same occasion, Mayor Zayco also gave crutches to Jay Casabuena, a lame vendor who is a member of the association. Casabuena received the unexpected gift with tears of joy in his eyes.
KCVA, organized on Nov. 2004, has presently 82 members. They contribute P1 daily to the association which has now a saving of P10,000.
Members can loan from the association from P2,000 to P5,000 depending on his contribution. The vendor-members are enjoined by the Ceres management to maintain the cleanliness of the terminal surroundings.
With Mayor Zayco during the program was SPM Ricardo M. Regalia, Jr., chair on committee on agriculture, livelihood and cooperatives.
Meanwhile, the "Kauswagan sa Ikaayong Lawas
Association" (KILAS) whose members are women vendors also received a check in the amount of P72,000 from Mayor Zayco on May 23 for their livelihood program also. The check was received by the president of the association Betty Glonio and Brgy. Capt. Alfredo Bendol of Brgy. 1.
Likewise, the Tuburan Women Association in Brgy. Binicuil also received a livelihood loan assistance in the amount of P75,000. The check was handed by Mayor Zayco to Brgy. Capt. Anastacio Belarga and Meka Salundaguit. This association has presently 29 members.
