DEVELOPMENT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

To transform Kabankalan into a self-sufficient, progressive and ecologically sound city where:

• All its constituents have equal access to justice, adequate basic services, productive resources and other life's opportunities;
• Balance agro-commercial-industrial productivity, growth and development are sustained to ensure self-sufficiency, food security, economic growth and socio-political stability;
• There is a high degree of people participation in decision-making process and political maturity aimed at people empowerment;
• Equal employment opportunities are made available to all local residents regardless of their gender, religious beliefs, and economic or political status;
• Education institutions adequately respond to the varied educational and research needs of the local community and the same serve as the learning center for Southern Negros Island;
• Natural resources are judiciously utilized, distributed, protected and restituted;
• The protection of ecology is of paramount importance;
• All sitios and barangays are inter-connected with farm-to-market roads and bridges and are adequately provided with the much needed social infrastructure support on health, nutrition, waste and sanitation;
• Potential local tourist spots and attractions are productively enhanced and developed; and
• Various development organizations of the society are working harmoniously and collaboratively towards sustainable development efforts and initiatives.
